Today I'll be reviewing a different kind of product from normally;
Cleansing hand gels ($2,50,€ 4,00) !
You use these gels to quickly desinfect your hand by applying it to your hands and allowing it to dry.
I know it isn't 'usual' to review cleansing hand gels,
but I saw them a lot in the body shop,
So I decided to take two home and test them for you!
I have two smells: Coconut and Satsume (which is basically orange scented).
In total there a five gels.
I'm missing mango, strawberry, sweet lemon and pink grapefruit.
They all sound fruity and yummy!

The gel on my hand
Let's just start right away: That smell!!! Pure cocnut and orange! I love it! It really smells amazing, and after the strong smell of the alcohol is worn away, you are left with heavenly smelling hands (choir of angels starts to sing: Hallelujah...). I do not suggest using it in a small and closed thing tough, because I once used it in the car, and my father was like, 'what's smelling so strong?' :-).
The ingredients Satsuma:
Alcohol Denat. (Solvent/Diluent), Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Betaine (Hair Conditioning Agent), Glycerin (Humectant), Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emulsifier), Aminomethyl Propanol (pH Adjuster), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Parfum (Fragrance), Hexyl Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Citrus Unshiu Fruit Extract (Skin Protectant), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Oil (Fragrance/Essential Oil), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract (Natural Additive), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Citrus Unshiu Fruit Oil (Skin-Conditioning Agent).
The ingredients Coconut:
Alcohol Denat. (Solvent/Diluent), Aqua/Water (Solvent/Diluent), Betaine (Hair Conditioning Agent), Glycerin (Humectant), Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emulsifier), Parfum/Fragrance (Fragrance), Aminomethyl Propanol (pH Adjuster), Propylene Glycol (Humectant), Cocos Nucifera Fruit Extract/Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract (Skin Conditioning Agent), Benzyl Benzoate (Solvent), Coumarin (Fragrance Ingredient), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract (Natural Additive).
As you can see, there are a lot of ingredients :-). Also, they differ a bit. What I can tell by looking at the ingredients: A lot of alcohol! Of course this is because it's supposed to clean your hands, so for this product, it doesn't matter. They did put some hydrating/caring ingredients in here, but don't expect this gel to hydrate your hands. There is also perfume in it, not a lot, not a little.
Over to the packaging! The packaging is hand-sized and just the right format to quickly throw in your bag. It has a flip top opening, so you don't have to worry about the gel opening up in your bag, but it can be hard to keep clean. It shows all the information you need: The Content, how to use it, the scent/name and were/when you can use it (in the plane, for the whole family, after eating or after going out for a walk (with the dog)). Also, it's transparant, which I like because you can see how much is left. Usefull to know it hasn't to much content to bring on a plane! The sticker with the printed hand looks really nice! It has a playfull look which I like. It's also nice that he colour of the packaging is adapted to the scent.
Pros:
- Heavenly smell!
- Practical packaging
- Some hydrating/caring ingredients
- Nice looking
- Great to quickly desinfect your hands
- You can take it on a plane
Cons:
- Easy to squeze to much out of the bottle (dispender would have been better)
- Flip top opening gets dirty easily
- € 4,00 is a little overpriced
Besides from those three point, I really love this gel and I'm defenitly going to use it more often!
Do you use hand sanitzer?
xXx Imke
